About Rachel
Rachel attended her first ever yoga class in 2019 hoping to strengthen her knee after tearing her meniscus the previous year. The class was Dharma Yoga with João Rodrigues and was described as “challenging”. She fell in love with Dharma Yoga in that very first class and has been practising it ever since.
After 5 years of practice, Rachel felt drawn to teaching and sharing all the amazing (and some unexpected) benefits she had discovered with others, so she travelled to New York to train with Sri Dharma Mittra. It was a life-changing experience.
Rachel’s teaching style is fun and playful. She especially enjoys introducing students to arm balancing and inversions. She is passionate about sharing the benefits of yoga and making the practice accessible to all through use of creative variations.
As a trauma survivor, Rachel is conscious that students may not always feel comfortable in their bodies and her teaching reflects this. She strongly believes that age is no barrier to yoga and finds Sri Dharma Mittra the perfect role model both for his deep spiritual knowledge and wisdom and his sheer playfulness and exuberance.
Rachel is forever grateful to her inspirational London teachers Emi Tull, João Rodrigues and David Ramcharran.
