About John
John entered the world of yoga while visiting Bali in 2009. His experience was profound, an awakening that highlighted the malaise of big city life.
Beyond his enthusiasm for distance running, he craved more enhancement in life. Immediately upon his return to London he continued the exploration into yoga.
After a few years into his journey he began practicing with two senior teachers of Dharma Mittra: Mark Kan in 2012 and Emi Tull, whom he still practices with today, in 2015.
In 2015, John completed his Sivananda 200hr training with Swami Govindananda Saraswati in Kerala, India. He went on to complete his Dharma 500hr with Sri Dharma Mittra in New York in 2025.
Now firmly embedded in London’s vibrant yoga community, John continues to share his love for yoga in a place he has called home for the past two decades. His classes combine practical knowledge and measured support to guide students to deepen their practice.
“Move the joints a little every day. You have to find your own tricks. Bury your mind deep in your heart, and watch the body move by itself.” – Sri Dharma Mittra
